Kay, I always love to hear your recordings, and this one is especially nice. Besides the fine musicianship, there is always a contagious love for the sounds of the instruments. |

I really enjoyed this recording, Kay. Very cinematic. I recently re-watched Lawrence of Arabia and I can imagine the camels coming over the horizon to your cut. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

That was very cool. Cinematic as Andy said. Reminded me of a Ennio Morcone film score.
The lead I instrument is electric guitar, correct? |

I get the impression I've heard the lead guitar theme somewhere else, but I cannot remember where. |

Gentlemen,
Many thanks for the appreciation, much treasured.
The copyright on this tune belongs to my good friend and mentor Chick Holland who lives in a lovely part of North Devon in the UK. I overdubbed steel on this mix in which he plays the lead (on a Stratocaster). He had asked me to overdub the "ooijie oojou" (my own terminology and invention). He is a stickler for perfection. I have overdubbed steel on some of his other recordings and he once had me do 87 takes before he was satisfied!

I,too,- think I have heard this on one of Kay's CDs but with a title like Night in Tahiti or Tahitian Nights or something like that.

Yes, Arabian Sunset was featured on my CD "Shadows on Steel" issued 2011, on track 7. Track 2 was also a Chick Holland original, titled " Windsong of Tahiti", which featured the lovely voice of Rachel Dickson (that was the recording with the 87 takes).

Beautiful as usual. It shows that steel guitars can be a part of any kind of music. |
