Topic: where can I find a small amount of laminate? |

I need a small 1-1/2" x 34-5/8" laminate banding
for a repair on a pedal board. Anyone know where I should look for such a small amount of material?
(Dark walnut in color) Thanks alot... |

| Thanks guys for the suggestions, the business I spoke with has the product or they can get it but, the banding comes in 200' and 250' rolls. I need 34-1/2". Hoping someone on the forum had a source for smaller amounts of it. Thanks again |

Grizzly Industrial sells some veneers in small sizes especially for instrument construction and repair. You might check with them. HTH.

Keep checking your local cabinet makers. They usually always have small pieces that are left from a job. I know because I worked for a cabinet maker one time, and they had piles of "drop" from jobs. They might not have the color or design you want though.

check the dumpsters behind cabinet and counter top shops.
i've found good leather and vinyl behind upholstery shops. |

Thanks Richard. The dark walnut color isn't to popular in typical home cabinetry and counter tops.
I never thought it would be such a hard item to find.

| You might want to check the web for woodworking project catalogues. When I worked in the business. I used to get several catalogues from companies that sold laminates for smaller projects. You're probably looking for Gunstock Walnut laminate. It"'s very dark, but, still has the grain showing. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the mags anymore and I can't remember their names. |
