Hi folks
I am playing a MSA classic D10 and use the E9 99.9% of the time if not 100%.

I tune my back neck to a B6
1F# 2D# 3B 4G# 5F# 6D# 7B 8G# 9E 10B

After I set up everything I wanted on my E9 I have 3 pedals left to do something with the back neck.(I dont want to hook any levers up back here because I like the feel I got on the E9).

So here is the question I was wanting to ask you guys.

What would you suggest to do with just 3 pedals?

Standard pedals 5, 6 and 7.

If you only have three pedals for E9th, this would mean 4, 5, 6. Lets just call them A, B, and C:

The A- pedal lowers your F# to F and raises the E to F.

The B- pedal raises your D# to an E and lowers your lower D# to a D.

The C- pedal raises your B to C# and your G# to A#.

I had to keep in mind that your tuning is a half note lower than C6, so I hope I made no mistake in calculating.

I also have my rear neck tuned to B6 and Joachim is spot on with his calculations. What he calls pedal A could also raise the bottom B (S10) to C# but I don't bother.
After a while you may begin to miss the one standard lever that lowers S3 to A#, and without a full pedal 8 you might also want to raise S7 to B#.
This is my coped for what it's worth, but I only use 3 pedals on the E9.

If you've got a 6th tuning, I think you'll be really happy with the standard 5, 6, & 7 as Lane suggested. I have G6 on my Clinesmith with 5 6 7 and it's turned out to be my favorite tuning. I've got a low E on the bottom, but I'd like to hear some different ideas for that.

I have had a B6 on my back neck since long before pedals, and kept it after pedals were added. Just play it like a standard C6, using the same gauge strings and pedal set up, and you will never know the difference.

Thanks guys...I am playing 4x4 on E9. I took the 8th pedal off cause it was crowding my vol. pedal. I dont have a lot of use for a 6th neck at this time but would like to set a little something up to toy with it...again...thanks Very Happy

B6 is a lot of fun to jam with some backing tracks. Some great complex sounding chords - easy to play once you nail down which chords go where.
