Where is the best (cheapest) place to get good gaffer tape?
Specifically, 2" wide and at least 10 yards length.
Of course, flat black in colour. Excellent adhesion, yet not impossible to pull up at gig's end.

I've been getting a few bargains off fleabay, but they are few and far between.

Thanks in advance........Joel

That is a contradiction in terms, J.R., in that you can have cheapest OR you can have good, but not both. There is a wide range of quality in the gaff tape industry, if you want GOOD tape for a CHEAP price you must buy it by the case. Try these guys...

I agree with Dave on the quality/price issue. My friends at Rose Brand stock the biggest selection of professional gafffer's tape I've ever seen, and they ship anywhere! They deliver direct to the NYC theatre industry and carry the Shurtape brand.

Agreed on the quality/price differences.

Last few rolls were from an ebayer in Houston, but he longer sells it. Sad

Thanks for all the replies. All help appreciated.

biggest difference between gaffer tape and duct tape is that gaff tape leaves no residue when removed. it is widely used in the broadcast industry for quick fix operations on locations etc.

As I understand it the "gaffer" is the lead electrician on a movie set. One facet of his job is to tape any cords down so the actors or crew are not tripping over them.

These people are the real deal. Actually supply the industry. Price is a bit better than Amazon, but shipping may kill that.

The gaffer is indeed the lead electrician on a film set. Responsible for the crew that sets and adjusts the lights the way the DP wants them. Gaffers tape, otoh, is totally ubiquitous on the set and used for damn near everything.
