Does anyone have this book in pdf format? I would pay for copies. I tried contacting John McGann, the transcriber, but the email address on his website no longer works.

thanks,

todd

John passed away this last April (seems like a long, long time ago--I was shocked to be reminded that it was just in this past year).
I have no idea who has control of his stuff or if anyone has plans to reprint this out-of-print book.

John and I created the Joaquin book together. We did several reprint runs and we were talking about maybe doing one more when he died. I still have the file and might one day make it available as a PDF or rebook. But for now there are no reprint plans.

Andy, I'm sure I speak for a lot of people.
I would love to have the PDF. Name your price.

Well, when John died, I gave all future receipts from the books & DVDs we did together to his wife and daughter. I'll see if I can create an eBook or PDF with payments maybe split between the SGF and the McGann family.

Andy, if I may offer a suggestion, I believe PDF would be a great way to go. I have several instruction books in PDF format with accompanying MP3 downloads (from Mel Bay mostly), and it's a great format in that anyone can download the Acrobat Reader for free, whereas not everyone has or wants to get a hardware platform like the Kindle. Tying the book to a hardware platform could be a deal-breaker for many people.

Hey Andy, Even though I own a copy of the original book, I would still buy a PDF version with mp3s in a heartbeat .. I have been able to track down about 70% of the tunes in the book, but hearing them in a solo steel format would be cool

Great book !!

Thanks
Matt

To Add to Mike, you cannot print from Kindle. PDF would be better. MP3s would be fantastic.

The book was my idea but never would have happened without the seriously great transcribing skills and big heart of John McGann.

After John died I gave the rights to our own intrepid Forum Administrator Bobby Lee because I wanted it to be available to players but I didn't want to manage it. Our guy has a lot on his plate. B0b, where are you on making reprints available as well as PDFs?

Good news! I am taking over the distribution of the book. I am happy to do this, as I know many are interested in the book, and it is also a way to continue to provide some relief to John McGann's widow and daughter.

Thank you to Andy and b0b for making this possible. I will let you know when the books are in stock (should be about 2 weeks). I'll set up a page for it in my shop and will let you know when I am taking orders. I will talk to Andy and see if it would be cool to offer it in pdf form.

Mike, awesome of you to take this on!

John was an amazing, beloved teacher at Berklee College of Music and a great friend. I know he would have wanted future players to learn from his transcriptions. By all means offer a PDF if you want to do so. Feel free to add to the book content later on as well if you're so inclined. I'm very pleased that John's family will share the benefits.

Mike--the PDF would probably suit me better and I'll wait for it unless you feel like it might not happen any time soonish. I have no idea what-all it entails. So speak up if it seems like you're not going to be able to get to it. Otherwise I'll sit tight.
Good job, man.
