I have a nice pecan mica pre RP Mullen D10 with 8&5 in excellent condition. It has George L Tommy White pickups and has the ShoBud/Franklin setup on E9 and standard Emmons setup on C6. The case is in excellent condition as well. I'm not sure but I think this guitar is either a 96 or 97. This guitar sounds terrific. I really hate to get rid of it but I have to thin out my herd and hate to see this guitar not being played. I'm going to be honest when I say I've played many of the older Mullen guitars and this one is my favorite and I liked the sound of this guitar as much as I did the G2 I had. I'm now asking $2700.00 plus I'll pay shipping in the CON. U.S.

I really hate to get rid of this guitar but I have 2 other guitars. It was literally a coin toss on what to get rid of. This guitar has a very balanced resonant and sparkly tone. The wood in this cabinet is very nice.

I just wanted to add, I really don't think this guitar has been gigged very much. I used this guitar on my morning show with Buck Trent. Buck is going to be at the Baldknobber theater next year and now I will definitely not need the extra guitar especially 3 of them. This will make someone a great guitar.

Bump - poetry under the hood: those Mullen mechanics are superb and this is a great looking rig as well.

If this will help, I will pay shipping. I also wanted to point out, if you look at the necks, they are the size of the necks like the ones on the RP's or G2's. Most of the pre RP'S that I've seen, has the larger necks. That may have something to do with the reason I really like the tone of this guitar. I'm sure there was a good reason why Del did that.

Dean,
Do you still have the black pre RP? I think it was my son Jeremy's first guitar? Its the one he had when he first started playing with Lone Star… If you ever decide to sell it, I bet he would want it..

Dean.. I have the identical twin to this guitar and I love it! It is without question the smoothest most "perfect" playing steel I've ever sit behind. Never breaks strings, stays in tune no matter what and smooth as silk! Great guitars!

Wally, sorry to say I sold that guitar about 7 years ago now. I sold it to buy a new custom built dobro. It was a great guitar. I bought it at Bobbe's store. Mullens are great guitars period, even the pre rp's. This guitar that I'm selling in my opinion sounds as good as the G2 I had and plays as smooth as all the Mullen guitars I've played. I had another pecan Mullen that was a little older than this one that played with Ricky Skagg's for a while. It was a great guitar as well.

Dean, they are great guitars, I love my G2… I had one just like the one you have for sale, I should have kept it also… I bet this one won't last long, getting harder to find these guitars…

The pre RP are guitars that were built before the Royal Precision guitars. The RP standing for Royal Precision. The RP's are a little smaller and there might have been a difference in the changer somehow. I'm sure someone might be able to explain the differences better than me. Before the G2's came out, there were a lot of players that still preferred the pre RP's instead of the RP, Herby Wallace was one of them. When the RP's came out he still preferred the older design. His HWP guitars were the same as a pre RP. Then the G2's came out and Herby fell in love with them. I will say again, the tone of this guitar will rival the tone of a G2 IMHO.

I know Keith, especially for a Mullen and especially since most SD10's cost that or more. I really can't take any less plus I'm going to pay shipping. I'm not making one red cent on this guitar. In fact, I'll be losing some from what I paid for it plus I had to pay shipping.

Beautiful and great guitars fellas.
Dean's price is nearly half of what a new G2 would be.
