My Wife and I have an annual Picnic/Musician reunion at our home.
This year we were honored with the presence of Mr. Bobby Black. This is a video with Bobby on pedal steel, and my Wife singing 'Make The World Go Away'
Such an thrill to have Bobby Black playing in your backyard! I will put up more video soon.

Fantastic job by Bobby Black. I noticed he has a Lil Izzy plugged in his steel and gets a clean clear sound. |

Wow great sounds from Mr. Black there. That must have a been some kind of fun |
Yes Dave it was unbelievable...we have been blessed by the playing of David Wright at 8 or 9 of these, Jay Dee Maness has been gracious enough to attend twice, and this year we were fortunate to have Mr. Bobby Black...I think we will continue to have these yearly events for a while longer! |

Ahhhhh...so nice to see Bobby again, and realise how years slip by so quick. I remember his great playing with Commander Cody and the lost planet Airmen. Also saw him in U.K. playing steel for Barbara Mandrell at the Wembley festival

All ways a fun time , Bobby is a great player, and even nicer guy, heres a quick story
We were playing a steel show in Ca, Tom Bradshaw put on in the 90's
I was on stage , ready to start my show, Bobby was on the side of stage putting his guitar together, and had a nice crowed around him watching, I look over and told him he draws a bigger crowed just putting his guitar together than i had to see me play!! Now as most of you know I'm a SMART ASS , and asked him to stop , I;m trying to put on a show!!! ............ not more that a week later, I get a call from Bobby, saying how sorry he was for upstaging my show, I about fell thought the floor, Bobby, I said, it was a Joke!!... this is the kind of guy he is, just a sweet heart... Bobby Black is a true Steel guitar Treasure..and a Friend...
bill, you've had the 2 best steel players in the west at your backyard...Bobby & JD....it's gonna be hard to top that!!!!!!!
Bill D Terry, I miss you, I miss our mornings at the coffee shop, Lunches with Big and Jerry, Dinners at Fruit Yard, Your a good friend, and so happy Janice found you.. Luv ya Buddy... |

Hey David, that's a great story about Bobby! Counting you, that's 3 of the best West coast steelers we have had...even though you moved to Texas, we are still claiming you as our own. Janice and I miss you too David! We are going to Phoenix again so hope to see you soon!!! |
