Can anyone give me some advice on a good set of speakers I could run through my laptop to play along with some backing tracks ?

I like running through my stereo, but I have a set of Insignia that do pretty good.

A good set of computer speakers with a sub would probably do...

There are so many out there. Price is probably the thing that most go by. I usually buy Altec or JBL speakers. Can't go wrong with either. But there are many others that are probably as good.

Another option might be patching the computer into aux input of your amplifier, depending on what kind of amp you have. I've done it that way with NV112 and Roland Cube. Then you can play loud or through headphones.

Behringer MS 16. Our family has multiple sets.
Get them from Musicians Friend, Amazon etc.
Cheaper and better than Best Buy purchased computer speakers.
Also have a mic input with separate volume control that could be used for guitar, I suppose.

Thanks so much guys !!!
There are so many brands of speakers out there and not really that expensive.
I may just patch it through a Nashville 1000 that I have been trying to sell locally as I really didn't want to deal with shipping it out.
Thanks so much again !!!

Studio monitors. Small 6 inch will do great.

Several makers. Stay away from the "spensive stuff". Those are for recording pros.

"Event is a good brand"

Guitar Center can help
