My friend Phil Coggan from South Wales in the UK, who is an excellent guitar player, decided to try his hand at lap steel. He modified a Telecaster a USA 52, re-issue. This is his first lap steel recording.
I think he deserves encouragement!

I think he deserves it too, a very good effort and I hope this is just the start of Phil's enjoyment with the Steel Guitar.

That's pretty amazing for someone's first effort. I've known people who've been playing steel for years who couldn't improve on that. |

Phil thanks you all. Yes, Ron, the very same the same Phil Coggan that you mention...
I stand corrected. He played this with a slider and without raising the strings on the Telecaster.... I'd say that is exceptional technique.
