From the album "RECORDED LIVE IN DALLAS TEXAS" (1969)
Does the Steel Player sound a bit like Curly Chalker?

I served in the U.S. Army in the early 1960s. I spent about 5 months at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, in the 1st half of 1963. Moffet was just across the Arkansas River from Fort Smith, Arkansas. Moffet, Oklahoma was off limits to military personnel. Apparently it was for a very good reason.

Roger, How are ya? I just listened to Moffett Oklahoma and loved it. The steel is very good and the song is even better. Plus, I loved the cassuall live feel of the whole thing. That was really good. Thanks, Don |

Roger,
My impression is that it was someone perhaps under
'the Chalker persuasion', but definitely not Chalker.
Later in the record is a 'run' right out of the Bud
Charleton book (@ 2:52-53) and the ending riff,
which is quite 'buried' sounds of Charleton, but I
doubt it's Charleton from other things being played.
There are several other tunes from this same recording
that may give other hints (or add to the mystery!).
