My computer is running Windows 7 Home premium. If I'm not mistaken it is 4G and barely a year old. I had router problems a while back and ATT installed a new router.
When I'm on you tube, the video plays fine if the mouse is moved every few seconds. Same thing with internet pages. A page seems to not want to load but if I move the mouse, it loads instantly. Does anyone know what's going with this or have a solution?
Thanks guys and gals.

You didn't specify which version of Firefox you are using, but...

This seems to be a bug in Firefox version 25.0

It's been fixed in version 25.0.1
So go to help and about and let Firefox update and it should be fixed...

Or just update to FF 26.0. Nothing like having up-to-date software. Smile

That's an interesting problem, though. I'd like to know what finally fixes it, just out of curiosity.

I'm unclear on your reference to your OS and "4G", which I assume means cellular technology. I wouldn't consider those related.

As I understand it version 26 is still in Beta, which means that there probably are things that doesn't work as they should...

Fond this bug report with some information...

Yeah, I'm on the FF update "beta" channel. But I'm using it, and it seems to do what it should, and I'm loaded down with add-ons. They push updates out soon as they're available, so I'm happy.

FF is still the browser of choice for me, but my experience with it is even non-beta versions always seemed to have some quirks.

Dave my operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. The 4G was referring to gigabytes of RAM, but after checking again I find I was in error, it is 6 gig.

Ah. OK, thanks. As it happens, I was researching options for home internet connections the other day, and 4G cellular was one I looked at. It's still too expensive for me.

Have you made any progress on the mouse/browser issue? An erratic mouse is often driver related; one individual with this problem when I Googled it found that when he switched from the Microsoft driver for his Logitech optical mouse to a current one from Logitech, his problem was apparently solved.

We did have some discussion here recently on Firefox add-ons and how some seem to interfere with flash videos, but mice didn't play into it, nor did browser performance in general. All I can think of at this point would be to experiment with different mice and see if that affects what's going on, and/or disable your add-ons and see if that helps. You can also try using different browsers, e.g., IE and Chrome, and see if it still happens.

You're not alone in this issue. If you Google mouse+"firefox freezes" with the quotes you'll get a lot of hits and maybe a solution - I didn't read all of them.

Anybody using Firefox 25, who is experiencing the browser freezing until the mouse is move problem, should read all the replies and suggestions on this Firefox forum thread.

Some of the suggestions involve testing a nightly build, which I don't recommend for the light-hearted. But, there are other suggestions given, including a link to downgrade to version 24.

Firefox 25.0.1 fixes the browser freezing on YouTube videos for most users, but not all. Watch for another sub-version to probably be released shortly.

But according to the OP, his problem isn't limited to YouTube.

I read those forum pages that Wiz mentioned and upgraded to version 25.0.1. I viewed a couple of you tube videos and surfed a few pages of the internet. It seems to be working fine now(fingers crossed) Thanks again for all the help.
