I have been using D'Addario strings for years. Yes, even before Paul mentioned them. I like them and never had a problem until now. I'm sure it was some marketing decision to change the packaging. It's obvious whoever came up with this new packaging doesn't have a clue about stringing a steel guitar. They are packaged in pairs. One and five, two and six, three and seven, four and eight and five and ten. WOW, what a genious! I like them enough to keep using them. I just needed to vent a little. Thanks! |

Martin Guitar Co packages strings that way, too. A pain in the butt when changing strings. |

It's not that bad to me. I got used to it. Saves some money and paper, I guess. I must admit, it does take a little longer to change strings, though. |

I buy singles from small local music stores so have not encountered this problem. That would be annoying for sure! |

Whenever i change strings, i take them all off and clean the guitar thoroughly...I never could get into taking only one off and putting only one back on at a time etc!
As far as their new packaging, we don't to warp the neck now do we??

I have used their strings for yrs. and will continue, cause I get'em cheap, they last, and my guitar shop doesn't stock another brand. But I never did care for their packaging. |

I think packaging seldom causes neck warpage. IMHO |

To prevent warping your neck, I guess we should use these?
