Since I was standing about 4 feet away from Maurice when we recorded it, I can for sure say he played the Bb6 Universal. The picture of that guitar is on the back cover of the CD. That was truly one of the most exciting times in my life. Doing a Jazz CD with one of my heros. Reece was good to work with, we only did one rehearsal. The band just clicked. The Bassist and Drummer were amazed at what Reece could do harmonically and musically.
I do still have copies of that CD if anyone wants one. If you want one send me $5 for shipping and I'll send you the CD for FREE! Jim Stahlhut PO Box 808 Georgetown, CO 80444
Man I still miss Maurice he was a really good friend. I cared a lot about that guy.

What made this CD so great, it wasn't some country guy's playing Jazz, Jim, and the boy's are the Real deal, Jazz Players, Maurice could fit right in to any kind of music, and did it well...his knowledge of cords , was and is the best of any steel player today, he loved steel, and teaching, and those of us lucky enough to have had him in our life's to learn from are lucky..
Miss him everyday.... |
