A confidential source has revealed to me that a certain brand of pedal steel guitar has now become a bit of history. A fine instrument, loved by many........"out of biz!" How many pedal steel manufacturers are there now? |

I have a MultiKord (Harlan Bros.) with 6 pedals that I bought in 1952. I used it on many sessions at Sun Studio, Memphis and others. I have the serial #, but never thought of selling it. It's been stored for many years. HJ |

I just talked to Jerry Fessenden, it's not him, or at least no one has told him he's out of business yet. |

I wasn't attempting to be unreasonably vague but at the same time, I don't want to be held responsible for sharing a reliable report with my fellow Forumites.
The guitar starts with an "S". The only such animal bred in the State of Oregon. It is getting some real exposure in the Gospel Circles. Email me if you haven't figured it out. |

Is this the Sierra guitar? I don't know where they're made. |

If this is true, I hope they can re-organize. The Steel Guitar community is too small to lose such a large part all at one time. |

Sierra will never be a serious collectable. They were not known for good tone. |

Their non pedal steels are certainly well known for outstanding tone.
If this is true about the company (and I sincerely hope that it is not), these non pedal laps will be highly sought after, IMO. |

I'm closing these topics. Rumors can damage a business. If Sierra has an official announcement to make, they can make it without 3rd party assistance.
