Hi Bobbe, I see your now selling Sho~Bud changers made of aircraft aluminum. I'm just curious if these change that Sho~Bud sound somewhat or do you feel it doesn't effect it. Loren. |

If it does change it, it's for the better, but I can't hear any difference in the two. Many pro players have changed from the soft chrome plated zink fingers to the aluminum fingers. Remember, all the original Sho-Buds were all aluminum.
Doug Jernigan, Terry Bethel in his old Super Pro, Chalker insisted on them. Honestly, I really prefer the hard aluminum fingers also, they last much longer.
A great mod for a great guitar.

When the original changers on my Super-Pro "went south" after about two years and wouldn't return to tune, my friend Johnny Vaughn in Oklahoma City replaced them with an alloy of aircraft metal from Tinker Air Force Base. The Super-Pro remained in tune forever after.
It sounds like Bobbe's "replacements" are from the same material and I highly recommend it!

His supplier said it was "scrap" material! (I wonder how many changers and knee levers could be made out of one of those surplus AWACS?)
