Rick Johnson built me some new speaker cabinets recently.
I installed some new 15" Peavey Black Widow speakers in them.
I fired them up last night and was kind of disappointed in the sound at first. However, the longer I played the better it sounded. And then I remember reading about new speakers having to be broken in.
Yes, that was the problem.
The first sounds I got were rather harsh but the longer I played they really mellowed out and I'm sure they will only get better. Very Happy

You're absolutely right, Erv. I use an MP3 player and play music through a new speaker as loud as I can tolerate for at least a day or so. Makes a world of improvement in the speaker's response.

Mike,
That's for sure! I never noticed the difference as much as I did last night. Rick built me a double speaker enclosure so the speakers were right at ear level, so the difference was very apparent.
