The first lap steels ever built by Melobar; it had all old Rosac parts with ping keys and a the Paul Barth pickup. This is a wonderful little lap steel with a warm, mellow sound. Wanting string through for sustain the LS model used a Brass rod to keep the strings from digging into the wood grain but was pretty hokey so I changed it. According to According to Ted Smith (son of Walt, the founder of Melobar), the bridge was his Dad's patented Phenolic with brass poles which helped the overall tone. 22 7/8ths scale. Built in late 92 through 93 about 200 were built in 6 and a few 8 string models Made in America and it won't break the bank. I purchased a brand new beautiful soft sided TKL gig bag for it. It has never been out of the house. I think you will like this one.
