This is a recent video of young Braydon Roller playing his Encore at the Baxter Springs Kansas show. He is learning quickly and to my ear is getting a good tone from his Encore. This is kind of how I like for them to sound.

Grandpa Jerry is teaching him well!

Well that is fantastic. The little fella has something going! Playing with a live ensemble and hitting his marks after just a year: Nice!

I agree about the tone, Doug. I like a little bit of hair or volume on the Stage One, which leaves it open for great sustain and articulation depending on where you are on the neck. I bet the Encore is similar in that regard, though even through the YouTube, you can tell the Encore has just that little extra something. Maybe it is the player!

Doug, thank you for posting this. I am very proud of Braydon. He plays thru the Nashville 112 with amp reverb and no other effects. An excuse is not necessary as I think he did great but fact is I left his pac seat at home and we got there about 45 minutes before he was to play. He didn't have his picks and had to bend a pair of mine and never got comfortable with them. He also borrowed Janet Lynn's a pac seat. He loves the Encore.

Go Braydon!! That is just awesome. He did great! Jerry you've gotta be loving this. I hope my son will have an interest in steel guitar when he's old enough.

Zum sounds good too Doug. Did you make it shorter to fit Braydon? It looked like it fit him pretty good. Great post!

Mule, Braydon's Encore has Doug's humbucker pickup in it. It is an exceptionally good sounding humbucker I think and of course absolutely no hum. Scott, the guitar came from Doug with standard height legs and rods. I had the legs and rods that were on Austin Stewarts guitar back when he started and I started Braydon out with Austins first legs and rods.
