I sure wish that Carl would do posts here again; all the information that he has shared here, Carl, I am so grateful to you. And if you want to discuss our lord Jesus Christ, IMO, that's fine with me. If I recall correctly, one guy bitched about it, and since then I haven't seen anything else from him. If I am wrong then I apologize. |

Carl is a brilliant person, fun-loving, extremely opinionated, generous, and he's a very sensitive man, almost thin-skinned.
I sometimes feel he's too much of a gentleman for today's in-your-face, contentious world. I think very highly of my friend Carl Dixon. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

Carl, in a few days I'm going to have back surgery and I hope that you'll pray for me. IMO, if the Lord is going to listen to anyone it just has to be you my friend. Thank you and God bless. |

It's not just Carl's personal Christian beliefs under attack, it's the current nationwide trend to denigrate anyone expressing belief in anything spiritual.
Carl accepts the reality that responding to those accusations is against Forum rules, so he chooses to disengage.
It's OK Carl, everything will eventually be revealed. _________________ "FROM THEN TIL' NOW" |

Well if it wasn't that some would attack his playing, his theory, his tuning, just the negative world of today. Everyone has to be right _________________ "Oh what a tangled web we weave when we first begin to deceive" Someone Famous |

Carl showed a great deal of patience with me and my dumb questions when I began playing. I miss his input here. _________________ Zum Encore, Zum Stage One, Fender 2000, Harlan Bros., Multi-Kord, |

It's such a drag when anyone feels like they need to pull away from this forum. When that person has as much knowledge to share as Carl, it's a great loss. I likely don't have all the same beliefs as Carl or any other forum brother, but I can't imagine any reason to pursue a public or private confrontation that would cause someone to stop sharing on this forum. We all have the right to express ourselves, but if all of us could keep it civil, we might avoid running off some good folks.
I'm making a lot of generalizations and assumptions, and I'm really speaking to all the players with a great deal of knowledge who choose not to post here, in addition to Carl. |

I totally agree with you. When I first got on the forum there were all kinds of guys, famous or otherwise that would have some meaningful contribution to us all. Not so much anymore. I don't blame them for not posting anymore. A lot of the responses were just plain rude, thought less and said in a way you would never talk to someone in person even if you had the privilege of getting that close to them in person in the first place. |

Funny-I've had Carl on my mind, lately. As my Brother, Herb Steiner put it,"Carl is a brilliant person, fun-loving, extremely opinionated, generous, and he's a very sensitive man, almost thin-skinned."
I don't think I've ever known anybody better than Carl Dixon. Music theory, check. Electronics, check. Total acknowledgement of the greatest pedal steel guitar player ever? Yep. I remember when Bobbe Seymour started a forum on his website. Carl lasted about two days.
I'd vote for Carl Dixon, anytime. |

A problem with a forum like this is that sometimes the written word, which is without vocal inflections or nuance, can appear cold and cutting. Even though the author my not have meant it that way. _________________ You can observe a lot just by looking |
