I just changed my E9 strings to Jagwire with a heavier 5th str. (17 -> 1Cool; 6th str. (20 -> 22); 10th str. (36 -> 3Cool...

.012 .015 .011 .014 .018 .022 .026W .030 .034 .038

First of all the new Jagwires sound terrific.

Secondly, the extra tension is exactly what I was looking for to have more control, plus the richer tone, and now more balanced sounding strings.

Who'd a-thunk changing 3 little strings would make such a difference. At least, for me, it seems a large improvement...

The "feel" is a LOT more solid AND dependable. The sound is more balanced and with a richer tone.

Thanks, Danny!!! Great Strings. Great Suggestion.

The only problem I found with a .022 was that my old SB changer was not returning it "perfectly" evey time. Some have adjustable tension. My old Professinal does.

Also I just went to a .020/.022 on the 5th and 6th of my C6 neck as the wound 6th wasn't picking up as well with my new TT. Plains seem to have a little more 'bite'.

Now it's much more even, and ready to rock.

I LOVE SSes, and won't be going back. I've been using GHSes but might give the jags a try when I go through these three sets.

Substitutions like that are free in the sets on our strings page.

Thanks, b0b....I got curious when I saw Ricky Davis' post on the subject a couple of weeks or so back.

I will check it out!
