Not sure this is loud enough for steel application. Gotta love the weight, 1.2 pounds!!! Did you look at the reviews on other sites? |

These new lightweight power amps are amazing. I've been using a Gallien-Krueger MB200 with my Line 6 POD XT in front and a single 12" EVM speaker. It sounds great for steel! The amp itself weighs less than 2 lbs.
The Stealth amp is in the same class. I like having some overall tone controls at the amp, to dial in for different speakers and different rooms. That's missing on the Stealth. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

I think the Stealth would have to be used with a preamp, like the Sarno octal preamp, or the FYD, or the Telonics. I have a Lemay MK-1, so this could work. 80 watts at 4ohms is most likely not enough however, for mono applications.
I think of the GK MB200 and MB Fusion as stand-alone units, where all you need to add is some effects, while the ISP is just a power amp that needs to be coupled with a modeling device (Pod, Axe Fx, Kemper) or some sort of preamp. |

It says that the Stealth is 180 watts into 8 ohms mono. I think that would be enough power for most steel guitar applications. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

How do these amps compare to the Walter Woods little boxes? I do not understand electricity, but are all of these using resistors and capacitors and transistors rather than transformers to change voltages?

I have a light weight Crate Powerbloc built into a Boogie 1 x 12 cab, driving a D120F.
I use it for a power amp only. Probably very similar to the Stealth.
I`ve been using different preamps with it and the 1x150w/8 ohm has been powerful enough for most situations. _________________ Olli Haavisto
