I have a new Rondo SX lap steel on the way. It comes set up E, so I ordered a couple of sets of S.I.T. C6 - 6 sets to try...I wanted to try something other than round would strings on the bass strings.
These are 15 - 18 - 22 - 24 - 30 - 36
Which is a little heavier on the high end 3 than I've been using...is this going to be o.k. with this guitar?
I mean, there is no real danger of over stressing a lap steel due to a couple of thousandth's difference is there? _________________ GFI SM10 3/4, 1937 Gibson EH-150, 2 - Rondo SX Lap Steels and a Guyatone 6 String C6. Peavey 400 and a Roland 40 Amps. Behringer Reverb Pedal. |

You should have no trouble with C6th tuning using those string gauges on that guitar. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

You might consider the "half flat" C6th strings from Scotty's Music. There's a little less noise with them. |

Yes, the ones I have ordered are the semi-flats. Actually these will be my first packaged C6 sets to try. The local music store doesn't stock them so I have been making my own sets up from regular single Ernie Ball guitar strings. _________________ GFI SM10 3/4, 1937 Gibson EH-150, 2 - Rondo SX Lap Steels and a Guyatone 6 String C6.
