Anyone have experience with these Electro Voice speakers? They were apparently an upgrade option from the Fender factory in Twin Reverbs for a few years back in the late 70s to early 80s. Do they sound as good as, or similar to JBLs? I've heard they are heavy. |

They are EVM12L's that were branded for Fender amps as an option. I have some mixed with regular EVM12L's and they sound identical. They are the early version with the chrome dome dust covers. Later EV started using black paper domes. _________________ Michael Brebes

Thanks for the response Michael. I guess my question really is; Would these speakers sound as good as JBLs in an Ultra-Linear Twin? |

I have the EVM 15F (EVM 15L)in my Vibrosonic reverb and it sounds very good. The Vibrosonic reverb is the same ultra-linear electronics as the twin.
The sound is slightly different than a JBL, so it is a matter of taste. Both are really good, but of course a 2-12 sound is different than 1-15.
