Did Emmons make single coils that were coil-tapped?

I ask because I bought two single coil pickups from an older, honest player who said they were off a friend's '74 Emmons. He had kept them for a long time before selling them to me.

They definitely look like Emmons single coils. No question there. I showed them to TC Furlong and he agreed that they sure looked like Emmons. However, the thing is that they both have an second white lead in addition to the usual braided ground. That is, each pickup has two white leads plus a ground that, upon putting a meter on them, indicate they are coil taps.

I've never before seen Emmons' coil-tapped single coils, although I vaguely remember reading that Emmons made steels with coil tapped pickups. Could these be two of those?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, Emmons made tapped single coils. A D10 Bolt-on (1967 guitar 1090D) I sold to TC Furlong six or seven years ago had tapped coils, that were something like 13K and 20K or maybe 22k. I remember the big tap made the pictures on the wall rattle and cracked the driveway.

Yep, Emmons called it "Dual Coil" (a somewhat confusing name) and offered it as an option. My '66 S-10 had that when I got the guitar, but the tap side was almost dead, so I had the pickup rewound standard single coil.
