Topic: Simichrome??? |

Would you believe it,I can't find Simichrome aluminium polish in Belgium Europe!I've checked many motorcycle shops,they all have many other similar products but no Simichrome.Probably it could be found under a different name over here.Please European steelers,any idea?Thanks.

| Some years ago I used a stuff called Auto-Wenol--made in Germany, I think. If you can find it, give it a try. Best regards. |

Simichrome is made in Germany, I believe, by Happich a GHE Company.
Here is the Happich web site: http://www.happich.de/index-en.html.
Although I do not see Simichrome listed there, if you call them, maybe they can tell you where in Europe Simichrome is sold and what it is called in Europe.

| Knife shops also have it. If you really get stuck, I could send you some from the states. I take credit cards through my business. I think it is about $5.00 or $6.00 US per tube now. |

Yes, it is too abrasive to use on laminate finishes, Bobby.

| I have found Mothers polish in a red jar to be the best for alumunum endplates & pedal bar than Simichrome & you get a lot more tnan a small tube of Simichrome! about $5 anywhere |

| To add to what Al said. Mother's is far superior to semichrome for over all polishing. It is a cream. If it has abrasive in it, I can't feel it. More like cold cream. If you play a stainless steel bar, you can polish it as smooth as any chrome plated bar. You can make it so slick you can hardly hold on to it. Give it a try. You'll like it |

Many months ago I asked Bruce Zumsteg what he would recommend I use to polish the polished aluminum parts on my Zum . He said he used a product ( I assume he still does)called "FLITZ " .I purchased a tube from him and he was right --it really does the work . I think even better than Mother's which is also very good . I have rarely seen it advertized . I later found a supply at a hardware store ( ACE Hardware I think ) and bought several tubes . It goes a long way so I still have a good supply .
I have a phone number in case someone wants to call the company and locate some dealer who is near you that has it . The company may have a web site --I didn't try that .
The company is FLITZ INTERNATIONAL LTD.
located in Waterford , Wi. zip 53185 . The last phone number I have is a/c 414 -534 -5898 . The product is titled on the box as " FLITZ METAL POLISH " I paid about $8.00 per tube when I last bought some .It is less abrasive even than Mother's .
It is really good stuff, goes a very long way and really shines those metal parts (old or new) . It is a product of Germany according to the info. on the tube .
I just checked and that company does have a web site - so go to your search engine and bring up their home page . The company web site is listed as shown above . The polish is shown as Flitz Fiberglass and Paint Restorer.

| Flitz also makes a totally non-abrasive metal polish - it's like Brasso with out the grit. I use it on sterling and gold fountain pen parts, but it might be useful for gold-plated tuners and other delicate guitar parts. I got some at a local hardware store. |
