The guy may have messed it all up by replacing the pickup. |

This is probably what Andres Segovia was picturing in his head whenever he heard an electric guitar. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

If he'd really been thinking he would have fasioned it as a low level console and added an old foot pump comode. |

I actually really like it, Doug. 😊 I already can hear contrary answers to this question, but what kind of world would this be without unique and unlimited imagination? _________________ Al

Yeah, I really dig the lights - but I'm a sucker for the gaudy Vegas Americana/1950's hotel lights. 😜 _________________ Al

I havn't seen anybody say they didn't like it or any of the others, I certainly do, and as Al similarly say's we need these kind of minds to keep it fun. Besides, this forum section can use such an occassional kickstart, it's starting to grow moss and 'shrooms again. |

There is a place in my heart for ingenuity. A fellow who does my carpentry work has half a thumb on his right hand so it's very difficult for him to hold a guitar pick.
I have been trying different picks, elastic band holders, etc., to help him play. I told him about cigar box guitars and asked if he wanted to try making one. I gave him an old Strat neck with bolts and plate, Tele plate with a pickup. A week later he asked me if I had a volume & tone and I found one on a Tele plate. He has it all together and it looks COOL. I'll post a pic soon.

Here's another Steampunk classic. It must be a "table top" guitar. I think there are 5 strings and a pickup buried somewhere in this Rube Goldberg contraption. ... |
There is some serious time invested in that one! That big brass cylinder looks like it might be part of a music box too. I've always been fascinated with Rube Goldberg contraptions. _________________ Some misc pics of my hand crafted steels

Maybe even Lou's Metal Machine Music. 🔨 (Which as a young fan of 18, I actually tried to listen to and digest, lol!) _________________ Al
