Which Lexicon? There are differences. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

I have a MPX-1 and just never got the hang of it like I do with the profex. If I sat down with the manual long enough I could likely work it out. Any special tricks? Anyone have the John Hughey setting? |

a big hall, a long predelay, and a smooth decay
and we don't need no stinking early reflections... |

Buddy, Thanks for the offer and the service you give. I may have to take you up on that offer later. For now, I just got to learn how to program the thing, if nothing more than personal satisfaction. I have loaded and changed some patches, still it is a pain to get where I want to be. (This is not my first piece of digital gear, ProFex, Line 6 Pod, Digitech, etc). The Emmons patch from Ernie's site is decent, but unlike Hugheys. I know from the sound I am only scratching the surface of whats available. Where did you learn the process? I have the manual and with time, I will try to find my goal. Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks, Larry |

larry that program on ernies site
is not real good program . it may work for buddy
it seemed flat to me . im thinking buddy may have used something else with it.
i just played with it long enough to learn it .
to get the best sound u have to store each effects to a user program buy its self. like reverb then delay .
then u edit each till u get what u want.
if u store a complete factory program it just want sound as good. |

Thank's Buddy, That's exactly what I found. I am now working on editing the reverbs and delays to suit my needs. All the effects systems I have were unusable as a factory preset. The speakers make a huge difference as well. When it sounds good with one set, it sounds bad with another. It's no one trick pony. I believe this unit has the largest learning curve of any I have owned. Best wishes, Larry |

Larry, you're doing it the right way. If you learn yourself you can change quickly on the fly after a while and experiment with things to find what you like and don't like. Let someone else do it and you'll know no more than you did at first. It looks difficult and the manual is not the best but it's not that hard after you get into it. |

Dave, That's my plan. I had to do the same with the Profex. I bought the data card and the programs were ok, but not right for my setup. After a while, I had to bite the bullet and learn to program it. I now have no problem programming the Profex. |
