I've mentioned this site on here before but just revisited it and thought I would post it for any newcomers.

www.steelc6th.com This is hosted by David Stewart, who lives in Hawaii. There is a TON of very useful information on here for beginners from choosing your first steel, to scales, song tab, etc. There is also a lot of background tracks, band in a box files, etc. for a lot of the tabs that are there.

A few things to note:

David plays mostly traditional Hawaiian music, most of the tabs reflect this, but the basic info, scales, etc. are good for any type of music.

He is a Christian, and his website reflects his beliefs. Whether you agree with his beliefs or not is your choice, but just so you know it is there.

He doesn't sell courses, online lessons, books, etc. In fact, there is not even a contact link on the site. David sites some pretty severe health problems as the reason for this on the "about" page. Everything there is free for the taking, and there is a lot there.

I have absolutely no reason for promoting this other than to present it as a resource for those looking for learning material who, like me, may be on a limited budget and may not be able to afford a bunch of paid lessons or courses.
