Went to Wally World today to look at some tablets, I would like to have my lyrics on my mic stand, accessible easily, and possibly try to run a effects program for my guitar on it also. I'm not sure what can work for downloading and accessing lyrics and not important but would like to get a amp program and enter that also. I can get a mount and put it on my mic stand and use lyrics as needed. I think to keep from ramblin', I'll let this go and read your comments, you know what I'm looking for, I hope.

Roger. I see your not getting any answers. I too, am looking for something to use vs a book on a music stand
that has words. I probably have near 400 lyrics and that takes a very big book. Lots of shuffling around.
How nice it would be to have just one thing to carry words. _________________ heavily medicated for your safety |

I've seen some apps for the iPad to do what you want. Actually there is a lot of music/recording/effects type apps around.
I don't know about the Android tablets. Most of what I see is for the iPad. |

I have seen people using the tablets for this. Have also seen people use laptops. I imagine that as long as you have a way to mount them, either would work. Mounting a shelf or something to a mic stand for a netbook/laptop might mean you need to weigh down the stand so it doesn't tip over. I think a tablet would be better as it probably has a touch screen and you won't have to deal with a laptop/netbook surface type mouse or a real mouse. And, I have seen mic stand mounts for tablets available. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I worked last night with a singer who uses a Ipad, I asked him and he didn't know about the other netbooks. I just don't have the 400.00 to spring for that. I'll spend 100 or so but not 400. Well I have all the mic stand connections as soon as I have one. I could use my little laptop but once again no touch screen so square one. |
