Thanks for posting this, Dennis!
Incidently, "Lovin' In My Baby's Eyes" is the first track on Taj Mahal's excellent Phantom Blues album.
Another great album is Sacred Island on which he's backed by his Hula Blues Band. Here's a live performance of the song "The Calypsonians" from that album. I own a copy of the album, but I can't remember the name of the musician playing the Ric "Panda" lap steel.

Two tracks from Taj's Grammy Award winning, 1997 album Senior Blues:
"Having A Real Bad Day"

and the title track, written by Horace Silver:

I won't say these are Taj's best albums because don't believe he's capable of making anything short of excellent music.
Dennis, again, thanks for posting the Taj Mahal video.
Keep on pickin',

Hi Glenn, glad you liked it. I have 7-9 Taj Cd's myself. The video of Calypsonians and Hula blues are a bonus on the Hanapepe Dream CD which is a good CD. I emailed his web site and ask if there was any more video from the concert the two videos' are from but did get a replay. The steel player was Fred Lunt. |
