$700 and that includes shipping. Might ask an extra $15 to go to the west coast. Gorgeous little guitar... 3 and 4- Plays soft and sounds very nice.. I bought it for gigs, but have put all gigs on hold , possibly for good, and I have no need for 3 steels..

I guess everyone is as afraid of the PR system as I was/am... Can't get $700 for a beautiful maple lacquer pro model pedal steel, lol... In any case, I got annoyed at my ineptitude, and stuck with learning the Marlen pull system... These guitars want and need a lot of slack on the raises, and you must compensate with pull length on the levers.. It plays perfectly now after some adjustment that took a long time to figure out. Plays and stays in tune and all levers operating well and in tune.. Here's the problem for some guys.. Its set up to my knee lever configuration which was standard MSA in the 70's
RKR- lowers E's 1/2
RKL-Raises E's 1/2
LKL- raises string 1 F# a full tone
LKR-Lowers 2nd string Eb a full tone in 2 steps, with mechanical feel stop..
So there you have it.. It plays great and sounds wonderful as it sits.. I'll play it over the phone if you'd like.. However, the knee set up stays as is.. I am NOT going through changing it again.. If it comes down to not selling it because of that, I hang on to it, and it will sit in the case as I just have no use for it.. Price remains at a very fair $700 shipped, and thats only $25 more than I paid . I put a lot of work and study, and many phone calls in getting this guitar to play very nicely.. So if you are thinking about getting a cheap student model, This is a much better deal.. Its a vintage pro model in VERY good condition, and it plays very well. Its just that the knee levers are set up differently than most modern steels..
all the same changes are still there, just in different places. again as I stated, the string 8 pole is somewhat weaker than the rest, and needs a small piece of steel on it to make it as loud as the other strings. Its really a minor concern but it needs mentioning.

I used to own D-10 Marlen, and it was a beautiful guitar with a very nice tone, something between Emmons p/p and Sho~Bud, you can't get a better guitar for that price, just my 2 cents

Guys.. I am going to add a few parts I have found..
It seems as though I lucked into an original Marlen name plate, and an original pedal and pull parts.. I am going to do a bit more upgrading on this marlen I think, as I have gotten to know the seller of these parts, and he's a good guy that helped me a LOT when I was going through this.. I may then have the energy to set it up to a more common knee lever configuration, and will list it again.. right now i am past the
"I can't deal with this mess" stage, and have gotten this guitar really right finally.. Now I am going to continue the restoration/ upgrading until its a 4+4 with the E changes on the left where most players want them these days...
It will most likely be re listed again when its finished... bob
