I am cleaning out a room and want to sell this Evans amp. I have not used it in about a year. The amp has been stored in our smoke free home and is in good condition. I plugged it in this morning and it works great. Needs a new home where it can be used!

Thanks,
Mike Pate

Are "depth" and "expand" knobs broken?

On the FET 500 these are on/off switches rather than knobs like on the SE-200. This is a really good price on a large cabinet Evans!

From my past experience, shipping will be right around $100 including insurance on the amp while in transit. If you would like to buy the amp, I will pay all shipping charges that may exceed $100. If shipping is less than $100, I will deduct that amount from the price of the amp.

Thank you very much for your message

Mike

Charlie, I think he misread the label as it clearly shows FET 500 LV on my end. Never heard of an FV. But one of the best Evans I've ever had was a large cabinet 1981 model Evans just like this one with a JBL E-130. (Not certain it isn't the same one as I sold it years ago Rolling Eyes ) I still regret selling that amp!

There was obviously a miscommunication between my wife and myself when we posted this ad. The ad. reads Evans FV 500... It should read FET 500. So sorry for the mistake!
The weight of the amp. is 48.4 lbs. The amp. has a 15 inch Eminence speaker in it.
I got an online Fedex shipping quote from my home to Oklahoma City today. The quote was 49.00, with insurance coverage of $400, not including packaging which I would do personally. This would be about $10 for the materials to package the amp. This was less expensive than I thought. (I thought maybe this would give anyone interested an estimate of shipping cost based on you distance from Birmingham Alabama).

Walter, great decision to buy this amp at this price. I have one just like it, serial number 8258. I bought it new in 80's and it has only had to be serviced twice. It developed a slight distortion at higher volume a couple of months ago. I sent it to Derrell Stephens in Nash, TX for repair and preventative maintenance. Derrell is the guy who was building these in Texarkana, if I am not mistaken, and the one's he built were prior to the company being sold to Ed Buffington in NC. I have always been told that the one's that Derrell built were the most desirable ones. Derrell is great at keeping these things going and does fast turn around at reasonable prices. He told me that all the parts for these amps are still available so in the future, should you need a repair, Derrell can help you out, plus, it is not too far from Nebraska to Texas, so shipping, especially the chassis only, should not run that much.

If I didn't already have 3 amps, I would have jumped on this in a heartbeat. Great vintage amp and one of the best sounding amps ever built.

I had one of these years ago and always wish I'd have kept it. This is the best amp that Evans ever made in my opinion and has great reverb too. The newer models that cost over $700 are not near to the quality of tone out of these amps.

I'm with you Frank. These are such great sounding amps. Wish I would have kept mine too. Best tone I ever heard was Jimmy Day playing a Sho-Bud steel through an Evans FET 500 .

Tell you what I'm tempted to buy this amp and I absolutely don't need it! Make me an offer I don't understand and I just might take you up on it! I don't think you need any effects with this amp if you're playing the real stuff, you know traditional country music from the 50's through the mid 90's. Shoot Tommy may have this amp on the Opry next week haha and I wouldn't blame him if he did! You made me think but I was playing a 70 Sho-Bud Pro II when I had my Evans FET and that was mighty sweet! Never thought of that but that's true too. I think this amp would sound good with any guitar. You trade around with amps and guitars and lose track sometimes.
