The tune is Give Me The Roses While I'm Living, just wondering who is playing the Reso. One of the pics at .039 shows a steel player, but it's just a random pic. I don't know who tjat steeler is either.

| Possibly Bill Carver playing reso. Would help if I can find the date of the recording. Ralph Jones was with them for a time also. It sounds too basic for it to be Josh but then Josh's playing didn't get real fancy until he joined Flatt & Scruggs. The style seems to be more Carver than Josh. |

| Man,that takes me back...I used to sit in the truck in the barn at my grandparents' house and listen to the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday nights...Wilma Lee and Stoney,Roy Acuff and the Smokey Mountain Boys,Bill Monroe...we will never see and hear the likes of them again...thanks for posting this,Mr.Rout. |
