Hi Steelers,
I'd appreciate a heads up if anyone has a line on any Eddy Drake 45's on the Toppa label.
Specifically looking for:
TOPPA 1050 -I'LL LEAVE THE FRONT DOOR OPEN / KEY TO MY HEART
TOPPA 1080 -AS TEARDROPS FALL / CALL ME IN THE MORNING
Thank you kindly.

Ron,
Tht would be great if you can check and many thanks for answering my call. Its a pleasure to communicate with someone who played with Eddy. Did you appear on any recordings? If so which?
I am particularly fond of Toppa 1050 I'll Leave The Front Door Open, as both A and B are killer sides. I'm currently refurbishing a Wurlitzer 2700 Juke from 1963 and once she's up and running (in a few months) I want the BEST records in there and the Eddy Drake Toppa records will definitely go in there (if I can find any).
Thanks again,
Marty |

Hey Marty, I played steel for Eddy for a while too. I don't have any of his recordings though.
Ron, do you know how to get in touch with his family? They might have some that they'd let loose of..........JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Thanks guys. I want to stress that this isn't a get rich sell it on eBay trick. I genuinely love his sides on Toppa and really want a copy for the Jukebox. Not even sure what these are worth!
I made the worst mistake ever when I neglected to send Eddy a get well card as he was in hospital fighting cancer. The address was posted on this board and I procrastinated. I'll NEVER AGAIN make that mistake! |
