There is a particular steelguitar sound I often hear in today's modern country music.
I think it has something to do with EQ.It's the sound you can hear on "Between the devil and me" by Alan Jackson from the "Everything I love" album. (Side 4 at 1'38"-3'20"-3'38")
Could someone help me get it.

I don't think it's EQ. It might be acid reflux or possibly a bee sting.

Lots of times studios use compression after it's all done. Compression is hard to do and still get clean chord and sustain "tones".

Dan Armstrong Orange squeezers were great for single note stuff, but kind of mushed chords up.

Maybe that's what you are talking about.
