Hold on to the end for a killer version of Take the A train.

That's a beautiful Gibson Johnny Smith or L-5. Kind of ironic as J.S. passed recently.

H & J were featured on one of those "10 civic centers in 10 days" tours that I worked back in the 1960's. They played some fantastic music during the after hours jam sessions away from their cornball act on the show.

I took a week long mandolin workshop with Jethro in 1983, and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Not only was he a world class musician and entertainer, he was just a great guy. The things I learned during that week are still just as inspiring today as they were 30 years ago.

At some point, someone posted a set of lessons transcribed from cassette that he took from Jethro.

I have no written info, just the sound files.
