I love my Mullen D-10, but I have made several attempts to reach them over the last few months by email and phone, and I have not every yet received one reply.
What is up? I did not buy my guitar from them, I bought it used. Do they only service those who buy new from them?
I wanted to add a pull rod to the 4th pedal for the 5th string, and needed one for that, the bell crank and a hex tuning tip.
Any suggestions??? Why are they not responding?
I am not whining so much as wanting to know if there is something I am missing....

Sometimes Del can be hard to find. If all you need is parts, have you tried Herby Wallace? He may have some. Or Bobbe Seymore. Likely one or the other has what you need..

You might check with Billy Cooper's Music. He probably has what you need. |

I E-mailed Mullen Guitar with no problems. I ordered the same parts your looking, for mine. Their response to my E-mails have been fine. |

I don't believe I would contact Bobbe for Mullen parts.

I've also been in contact before with them, by both phone and email, and had no problems. I didn't buy my guitar new from them either, so not sure what might be going on, Bill.

A simple reply from them would be fine.
I am not going to email or call again. I have done so more than three times since I bought my guitar and needed their help or input. I always ended up finding it elsewhere. Third time's the charm for me.
Thanks everyone. |

Some time ago (maybe 1999?) Mike Castleberry & I swapped my 1998? GFI D10 (I got new from Ernie Pollack in MD)for Mike's nice 1996 S12
Mullen on the net! I later called Dixie and they sent me rods, bellcranks & all I needed to add whatever I was wanting at the time. No problem as I recall. I wound up trading it to Scotty in April of 2000 @ Rick Troyer's steel show in Ohio for the Excel S10 keyless I have now. The Mullen was a fine steel. My buddies used to tease me about the red Mullen D10 I got new from Bobbe in 1986. I traded it back to Bobbe for a 1984 Zum about 1988 or so because I thought the Zum had a trifle easier action.
With the adjustable return springs it did, or at least I thought it did for my "different" C6th setup w/ P7 on RKL. My buddies said the Mullen was the best sounding steel I ever had! What did they know?! I wouldn't do it again now that I'm older & wiser. (and after a good heart to heart with Don Curtiss!) I still miss that other neck! (E9th)If you play a D10 don't give it up for a S10.....maybe a S12 would do it, never did for me? Probably me![This message was edited by Doug Seymour on 06 June 2003 at 07:33 PM.] |

My email experience with Del Mullen has been almost "next day". As for adding a pull rod, etc., Billy Cooper is an expert on these guitars, and would do an excellent job for you. No need to go back to Del, IMO, for this kind of modification.
Best, -Dave

Del has not had good luck with email service in the past. That's been one of his complaints to me. As for the phone calls, I don't know what to tell you there. I usually am able to get through to them unless they're out of town or at a steel show. Also, if you own one of their steels, I feel sure that Del will be glad to help you with any service you may need. |

I just spoke with Dixie. Their pc hardrive crashed and they cannot respond to emails.
A tech was onsite as we spoke. You'll have to call them if need be. |
