Help... I'm trying to get this intro down (key of A) and am finding myself gravitating toward playing the descending run (first 2 measures) on string 1, starting on fret 20. I can play it this way but it's a train wreck waiting to happen. The issue of intonation at the upper frets combined with not being able to see the fretboard, where I need to due to my left hand being in the way, is pretty scary.

I've found previous discussions of this intro with one link to the rebel steel website for tab. I would like to, if possible look at alternative ways to play this intro. The rebel steel web site doesn't appear to be working. Can anyone point me to a site where I might find the tab. I'm guessing that there are better ways to play this. Thanks, Howard

Unfortunately, the Ricky and Rebel tab site is down indefinitely. However, with a little internet sleuthing, you can access the tabs via the Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org/

Hope that helps,

Ian

I tabbed it in the original key and tabbed it a very easy way to play it with the 3rd string and 1st string. Lloyd actually used the 1st string and 4th string and that's actually how I play it...but this version is easy and will lead you to many more cool licks. Just move everything down a half fret for key of A.

I work with a bass player named Joe, and the other night I said "Hello, Joe", and he said "The same as usual".
