S-10 single frame. small, extremely light, stable, in tune, sounds nice, very good condition, 5 on the floor and 5 knees.. A great gig guitar, IF you are into keyless guitars.. this is my second, and as with my Willy keyless, I just am not bonding with it.. Its been great at all my gigs to be honest, but I don't like the keyless head, can't get used to it, and I just like a more conventional looking steel I guess.. This is a a very attractive faux woodgrain steel, and its all you will ever need as a light, in tune solid gig guitar.. remember it has a lot going on with 5 and 5 hanging, and I'll send along a few spare pull parts..
If there is any interest, I will get some good pics up.. I will trade straight across, for a conventional S 10 of EQUAL value. Steels with extra pedals and levers get first priority... I will consider any and all brands.. I gave a very nice later pot metal Pro I for this guitar. I figure any 5 and 5 GFI Ultra should be worth $1500 anyway... Don't know what I am looking for, just a good s 10 that stays in tune I guess.. oh yeah, and has tuning keys..
I will even send the guitar out first without any money up front[except shipping], and you can try it out for a few days. If its not you, send it back, no questions asked . Shipping both ways is on buyer however.. This offer only applies to members I have seen here and am familiar with..
I am meticulous in not wanting anyone unhappy with a deal.
Anyway, let me know of any interest in trades or straight sale.... Its a VERY nice guitar, but I am not a keyless type of guy, and probably will never be... bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

Guys.. just so there is no confusion.. I got an offer for a nice SD 10, but had to refuse, as I am not interested in a double body guitar.. I am looking for a single frame S 10 only...bob

Bob, if you do decide to sell it, I am interested.
I've had the same issues with getting a keyless guitar, but might want to try one out just for the weight and size factor.
What year is it and do you have any photos?
Thanks-Garry |

Garry, I'll get some pics up ASAP.. I am not around much next day or so but I will get it done.... Its a real nice guitar and is super solid on the floor for such a lightweight guitar.. Plays beautifully. I probably should just keep it and gig with it, as it has been working great at gigs, but I just prefer older, more traditional steels.
Until they piss me off , won't stay in tune, break strings, parts fall off and can't be found anywhere etc, etc, then I run and buy a "modern" guitar..
Until I "can't ""bond"" with it, and start longing for that "vintage sound and feel",,, etc etc, and so it goes, on and on.. I need to be smacked.... bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

I've been playing a '66 Bolt-On D-10 Emmons for for the last 30 years and want to try something new. And this is about as different as it gets.
Put me 1st in line if you decide to sell it outright. The only guitar I have to trade right now is a '54 Blond Dual Pro.and a Tele or two.

Tommy.. only the ABC pedals are standard.. Everything else is ass backwards and oddball.. Its all E9, but its pretty atypical.. If the steel gets sold or traded, I would take the time to set it up to the buyers/ traders copedent, or it would take the new owner all of an hour to do it himself.. This steel is SUPER easy to work on and change copedents... bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

I'm pretty sure that this is a guitar that I once owned....unless somebody else had a GFI Keyless faux wood grain 5&5.......
If this is the case.......it is a real nice guitar, light but stable.....I bought it off the forum I'm guessing around 05/06'.......it was in pristine condition.....
It was originally a 3&4 (or 3&5, I can't remember) and I sent it to GFI to have the 5&5 configuration and tuned to a G6......this possibly why the copedant is oddball at present.... |

And I think this was the tuning?
http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum5/HTML/007541.html
I've had a couple of steels setup like this and it is an incredibly diverse tuning with many capabilities. It fits perfect for Cajun music crossing over to E-9th changes. I've recently revisited this tuning with some personal changes. |

Yes....I have that tuning on my S10 5&5 Lamar......
here's a clearer photo of the GFI......
yes,....I can see that the figuring in the front is the same.......the only reason I sold this steel was because of the string spacing....I could never get used to pedal steel spacing......my Lamar is 3/8" parallel spacing...... |

The guitar looks great! I Iike knowing the history of it.
Bob, the checks in the mail.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep it in E9th tuning though. |
