I have a Fender/Sho-Bud Artist. I have lowered the pedal rods as far as they will go without falling off. They are still 2 1/2 inches off the floor. Does anyone have any idea where I can get 8 pedal rods for my guitar at least 1" longer and any idea how much they would cost? They are 27" long now so 28 or 28 1/21/2 would prabably be ideal. It's really not playable in this shape. I also need one leg. Thanks very much.

Robert,

you can add extenders to your existing rods. Zoro Tools has them at a good price: part G3739915. These are for 10-32 thread which worked on my Sho Bud Professional; you may want to check the threads on your pedal rods. They come in sizes from 1/2" to 2". A pack of 10 will cost less than $10 with shipping. Should do the trick for you.

Sounds like someone used over size (longer) legs.

Well, 2 1/2" from the top of the pedal sounds about right to me. That allows for an inch or inch and a half of travel, and still gives you an inch floor clearance (which is necessary if you ever play on thick carpet).

A quick fix might be to angle the pedal board slightly (I've done this before with shims) or to cut the front legs off a little.

How much clearance is there between the bottom of the pedal bar and the floor? (Someone may had added longer legs, as suggested, or they may have put a different pedal board on the guitar).

Hello. My steel has 1/2" pedal travel and that is quite sufficient. The pedals from the bottom of the pedal to the floor is 2". Another quick fix would be to put a book under your heel or buy a pair of cowboy boots. I think Brother Don has solved my problem. He advised and I ordered from Zoros 10 rod extenders for $13.47 including $5.00 shipping. Everyone else is selling these extenders for $6.00 each. Many thanks Don. I know this wil solve the problen and you've saved me $46.53.The steel is quite okay for my 6'2" frame. Everything is comfortable. Thanks to everybody else for your comments.

Dan, I got the 1" rod extenders in today and installed them right away and everything is perfect. That Fender Artist is my kind of guitar. Very little pedal travel and I really love it. Thanks a lot my friend. I also ordered 2 more new legs for it. It is a swell guitar.

Glad they worked for you, Robert. At Zoro's prices, I bought a bunch of them in various sizes.
