These was something I thought of for a Sierra bell crank that I found in my papers.
Ron Elliott informed me me that " The EMCI had look-a-like of your idea" . I guess this could be achieved by removing the rod from the bell crank of an EMCI and still have it attached to it, with the rubber 0 ring, so the rod stays in place, without it flopping around. This idea enables one to activate or deactivate the change without turning the guitar over.

Intriguing idea! I would like to be able to easily engage/disengage the E>F raise on the low string of my XE9 tuning.

What I'm curious about is of course the bellcrank would be upside down when in use, and gravity would not help to move the rod from slot to slot. Seems like some jiggling would be needed. Great idea...

I haven't prototyped this, but it seems that a push with the tuning key on the nylon tuner would send it around the slot, no gravity needed (Mind you, this is an idea I had for a Sierra, which has the little nylon barrels, at the end of the rods for the bell crank, that would work well for this. It might have the potential to break a string.
