Good amp,185 watt, with 6 6l6's 2 12 inch speakers. Heavy as hell, but a great studio amp. $500.00 + shipping . Might work a trade of some sort of lighter amp.

Daniel, do what I did w/my Twin w/JBL's. Split that rascal into, two cabinets. The head weighs 52lbs, and the speaker box weighs 60lbs. I get a lot of compliments on how cool it looks, w/the old school ivory white tolex, and oxblood grill cloth. |

Daniel, I might be interested. Looking into cost of split cabs: I'd play out with it. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I would trade an Evans wide cab FET500. If you want lighter weight, I can put a neo in it. Right now it has a JBL D 130
Or if you really want lighter, my neo is in an LTD right now. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Lane,
You'll like this amp, I have a one that I converted the chassis into a head, built my own head cabinet for it, and I run it through a Mesa/Boogie cabinet with a single EV 15" speaker.....no lack of power here at all!!!! 6- 6L6's in the power section, and the great sound of tube driven reverb.....it's a great amp!!! _________________ "Strayhorn Era" 1998 LeGrande III D-10 8x6, Nashville 400, Mexican Tele, and several Martins..... |

I have an original baffle with the Fender logo with the correct Fender black grill cloth for this amp. Free to Dan or who ever gets the amp, just pay the freight, if interested. |

How much would that run to 66611? And is that for the 2-12?
And Ken, would you recommend sticking with the Fender 12s, or would the Blue Marvel like the D-10 better? _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Not sure on the freight, as I am out of town right now. Yes, it is a 212 baffle from a Fender Super Twin.
Speakers are too subjective. But, the Blue Marvels are not the correct impedance or wattage for such an amp. |

OK. I was just wondering. My amp doc said he thought the fender 12 didn't go down all the way to 55 Hz. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

According to what Jim Evans taught me a tube amp,s output transformer limits frequencies below 63 hz, so what does it matter? |

I didn't know that, neither have I noticed any attenuation of the A55 of the Boowah pedal.

That is typically one of the frequencies on a 1/3 ocatve E.Q.
Jim made the point that a transistor amp can go down to DC. But freuencies below 63hz were a waste of power to amplify. Did you ever play with a 1/3 ocatave EQ? You can hear a lot more change at 125 HZ than at 63Hz. Jim stated most of us can.t hear 63HZ out of a forward facing speaker. He said we feel the beats of the frequency more than hear it. He said you would need to stick your head in the back of the amp to really hear it! A front loaded cab just does not support those lows. That's why PA bass bins use the folded horn concept to form and project the really low frequecies. |
