I'll be in downtown Seattle Sunday and Monday night (July 14th and 15th). Anybody playing downtown? (I won't have a car, so downtown is it.)
Let me know.
Thanks

Probably not much chance any of us are playing downtown Sun. or Mon.
There's a good solid country player, Marlin James, playing at The Little Red Hen Sunday night in the Green Lake neighborhood about 3 or 4 miles north of downtown. Don't know if he'll have steel but he's a fine country guitar picker and singer.
I'll be playing dobro Saturday in Ballard, but that probably doesn't help. _________________ www.facebook.com/countrydaveharmonson |

Orville Johnson will be playing the Royal Room in Seattle, Sunday 7/14. 101 years of Woody Guthrie. www.theroyalroomseattle.com Orville plays dobro, lap steel (no psg) and a variety of other instruments, some blues, some hawaiian, some of a lot of things. Great stuff. www.orvillejohnson.com Orville is a member here so he may chime in. Dan Tyack is also a member here, lives in Olympia but may be playing in Seattle. _________________ Steve |

I see that the Royal Room has Jon Hyde listed as a performer. Jon is a pedal steeler and forumite. Don't know if he's playing PSG for a Woody Guthrie tribute, though. The Royal Room is about 6-7 miles southeast of Downtown _________________ www.facebook.com/countrydaveharmonson |

Yep, I'm participating in the Woody Guthrie night on Sunday. Doesn't look like I'm going to be playing steel, was hoping I might! Probably just playing acoustic guit and singing songs. They have a great backing band lined up, should be a real nice night of music. Royal Room is a fun joint too... |

this wont be of much help to Mack, but I THINK forum member Jay Kardong will be playing ON TOP of the space needle tomorrow in Sera Cahoons band?. and that seems worth mentioning somewhere on this forum, might as well be in this thread.
Im guessing that will be a first for pedal steel up there. |

How embarassing.
i guess everyone has played up there BUT Me.
I didnt know this had ever been done before, steel or not. we are talking about outside on top of the roof ...not in the inside. Ive read that the bands will be wearing safety harnesses.
im afraid of heights, I could never do it.
the very tip top outdoor little circular platform

Dave,
That's great. I am actually going to the airport Tuesday morning to pick up a car. I'll see if I can find you and say howdy!

Mack, unfortunately I'll be inside post-security and without a plane ticket or employee badge they won't let you past. _________________ www.facebook.com/countrydaveharmonson |

Well aint that a kick in the shorts. Oh well, I tried. I'll try again next time I'm up that way.
Dave, I have the last CD you recorded with Zoe Muth. Thought your playing on that CD was excellent (thats why I bought the CD!)
Have a good gig, catch you next round.

Thanks Mack. Been about a year and a half since getting fired by Zoe. C'est La Vie. Don't really miss motels and little money. _________________ www.facebook.com/countrydaveharmonson |
