Stolen '55 Fender double neck 8 string extra long steel

Hello all,

My 83 year old father has been playing the steel all his life. He bought this '55 Fender himself and has been the sole owner. He has never written down the serial number, unfortunately, however it is distinctive in that he has cut 1/4 inch off each end so that it would fit into his steel guitar case. Made sense to him at the time. Oh Well

The case was also stolen along with a small amp. Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. This instrument was stolen out of his car last week in Sierra Madre, California. He used this steel when he made two LP's with Lorin Whitney and the last performance my father has done with this instrument was in the Phoenix Symphony Hall by personal invitation of Paul McDermand. It is my prayer that he gets it back so that he can continue to pursue his music in his later years. He could buy another steel, but this one has so many personal memories attached to it.
