For forum comment.
First, I wanted a C6th to try.
Then I came across a "deal"
It will rise again, probably slower than expected.
I have seen this answered before, but the barrels hit the flat side, not the top of the "U".
See pic three, a well meaning improvment to the system.

This looks just like my '71. Mine works great. Now.
I restored it with help from James Morehead, Jim Palenscar and Michael Yahl. It plays great and sounds great. When I started, mine was in worse shape than this. I don't see in your photos anything that can't be easily fixed.
And, yes, the faying surfing of the tuning barrels mates best with the outside bottom of the "U" on the rack. Easy to fix. _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |
