I have a Perterson strobe tuner - stroboflip version. I've have it for about 3 years. I was getting a distorted sound when I played for the past year. It turned out to be the strobe tuner, which surprised me as I thought it was a true bypass. It is such a relief to get a clean tone at last. Has anyone else had distortion issues with the Peterson? Can anyone confirm whether or not this tuner is true bypass or not? If it is true bypass, then my tuner is obviously faulty. Can anyone recommend how I would go about getting the machine repaired ?- bear in mind I am UK based. |

The 'StroboFlip' if installed in the signal path has been known to cause some amount of distortion, mine certainly did. I experience no such problem with the older model 'Strobostomp' however (also enjoy the fact that the 'Stomp' features a power out function which enables me to power my reverb and delay). Have not had occasion to test the 'StroboPlus HD', perhaps someone else could provide some insight. |

I never use ANY tuner in line, even one that is supposed to not cause problems. |

I cannot hear any difference with the StoboPlusHD in line or completely out of the circuit. And when it is in line it behaves the same way whether it is ON or OFF. I measured the resistance of the cables and then measured again with the cables running through the unit with it ON and then OFF. No measurable difference with a Fluke 179. Hence this is a true DC pass through.
Using this device is a pleasant experience. I rate it five stars. |

I'm like Jack. I don't feel the need to have the tuner always on and in line. And, my Stroboflip also caused distortion. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) .
