| Some earlier poster reminded me to drag out an old Polytone (recommended for 6-string by Johnny Gimble) and try it with steel. At first I found that it really wouldn't cut it, but then Brad's Black Box was placed in line right after the steel and that made a great difference. Still not on par with a big Peavey, SS, Rev, ect., but not bad in the back room at the house. |

| My long departed buddy, Buddy Johnson could really make that Zumsteel Randall Palmore has now, sing thru an 8" Polytone. He tryed to sell me one every time I went in the music store where he worked. |

| I play an old D-10 push/pull. Ever since I stumbled across a used Polytone Minibrute II, the Peavey LTD 400 with its D-130 has been relegated to backup duty. That was over 30 years ago. |

| I hade the Polytone 102 model with a single 12 and two 8" speakers and it was supposed to be stereo but sounded better with the mono switch. I also had the Mini Brute II and playing a 335 type guitar sounded very nice with either of these amps. |
