I sent my Emmons LGIII 9p x 10kl to Billy for a complete restoration and couldn't be happier with the outcome. I have to say the guitar looks, plays, and sounds better than it ever has. There were only two of these purpleheart and maple bodies made by Emmons. One went to Roby Turner and the other to Tommy White
Billy took the guitar apart for a thorough cleaning and polishing. The jeweling on the necks was polished out and new laser etched fretboards by Jim Palenscar were added. Pick ups were replaced with Telonics 84 and 34.
The communication was superb. There were details to work out and Billy carefully explained options and sent pictures for verification. He had many good ideas like sending the bell cranks off for plating and replacing the rods with stainless steel which is a great help in my tropical environment.
He also suggested the Tom Brumley raise F#>G on one of my knee levers which I am enjoying.
The guitar looks and plays like new. Jim's fretboards are a real enhancement and the Telonics pups have opened the sound up. A pitch perfect job!

Billy and I can't find anywhere that says we are re-
lated, even thought we BOTH live in Southeastern North
Carolina! But....it is GOOD to share the LAST NAME of
a STEEL GUITAR GURU (one who knows everything about...
and who is able to make happen...anything that needs
to be repaired, replaced, replated, refurbed, etc)...
one who is just...the BEST!
The OAK RIDGE BOYS, the MARSHALL TUCKER BAND, TOM
BRUMLEY (if he was still with us)....and many more...
....can all tell you how good this man is!
Billy, thanks for doing your magic on my steels.

| Will, I own the one Tommy White had and Bill is currently rebuilding mine. I also have the 1970 PP that belonged to Burt Rivera, that Billy rebuilt. The difference in the guitars that you and I have is mine is a LGII and has maple necks. Can't wait to get it back. |

Wow, Larry. Can't wait to see the pics of the finished product. What are the chances of Billy getting both of those guitars in the same time frame? Your already familiar with his work so I don't have to tell you what an outstanding craftsman he is and a real pleasure to work with.
