| Hi all. Any chance of seeing photos of your console non pedal steel guitars? Would also like to see photos of homemade non pedal consoles too. I'll post a couple of photos soon of mine. Lost a lot of photos when hardrive died so have to take some more. |

Here's my 1951 Fender. It started life as a T-8, but was run through a table saw at some point before I got it.

Here's my old Vega. I think it's from 1948, but I could be wrong about the year. Somewhere in the '40s, though. It originally didn't have a neck selector switch, so I added one in place of the tone knob, keeping all the original parts. Note the nifty colored dots on the 'board.

Here's a couple. First up, 1956 Bigsby T-10 wooden necks.
Then, from the opposite end of the spectrum, a titanium tube frame 12 and 8-string bass made by yours truly.

It's a 1958 Supro Console Sixteen - basically the Supro counterpart to the National Grand Console. It was only cataloged from 1958 to 1959, so it's much rarer than the National. Here are a few more pics:

Yeah, it's a cool steel - I used it a lot when I was in a country band. The pickups are single-coils; they were used on a few archtop guitar models, and these are the only 8-string versions I've seen. They have low output and plenty of twang, though a bit more fullness than contemporary Fender steels.
Here's a sound clip. The first half was done with the tone all the way up. I usually play with it rolled back a little, as I did in the second half. |

| Wow ! There's a lot of great and interesting looking consoles out there. I still have to get some photos done of mine. Mine have been self built 8 string single necks so far. Working on D-8 build very soon. Thanks guys. I love lap steels too but it's the consoles that really impress me. |

I like the top rolled back, it lets some of that low end come out more...

Wow George- those steels are stunning.
just gorgeous.
The blonds are my favorite....although the lace wood looks mighty fine, too. (I have a lace wood kanun, the grain is so unique)
