Yesterday I received my Sho-Bud Pro II direct from the steel guitar spa that Ricky Davis runs. I am so pleased with the job Ricky did making this steel look and play like new. I want to post a couple of close up photos here so you can see the kind of attention to detail that Ricky supplies:

Thanks, Ricky. You did a super job.

Fred, she sounds AND plays like a dream. Ricky told me that the old Pro IIs would play as good as anything if setup properly, and he was right. Got to go back and play her a little bit more right now.

That's a beauty! Something to slobber and drool over if you are inclined to slobber and drool.

Hey Ricky, when are you going to start doing Emmons push-pulls?

Stephen, Your guitar looks GREAT!! Could you please tell us what kind of equipment you used to get those photos? I don't think I've seen better.

About the photos, I use a regular digital camera, nothing expensive. The trick with making digital photos look good is to avoid using the flash, especially for close ups. What you want to do is take the picture in a well lit room and use a tri-pod to steady the camera. Then, use the camera's timer to snap the shutter, that way the movement of your hand won't blur the picture.

Wow; thanks guys and it was a pleasure to do this one for Stephen; mainly because how much he has done for me....
David; I WILL NOT be doing Push-pulls... ha...simply because I've never owned one and had to go through everything before....so I have no experience...I'll leave them to Bobby Bowman and them boys in Nashville...yee haaa.
Kevin> thanks my brother...and refering folks to my work is great....but I got 3 on the floor right now and two in the garage and 2 on the way...ah..ha...but I'll take all I can get...but I still play music full time and do lots of sessions...and so the wait is gettting more so....but folks have been SUPER patient with me and that's cool.
Gosh I already miss that Pro II you have there "Red-eye".....it literally knocked my socks off when I played and heard this baby come to life....I bet your just in Heaven now???

Yeah, Ricky, in heaven is right. I never expected it would play so great and look just as good. I'm glad to hear you're so busy, anybody with a Bud has got to give it the Ricky Davis treatment.

Ricky - The polished aluminium in these pictures must have been done on a buffing machine - just as if this guitar had just come out of the factory. Is that right or do you do all of the polishing by hand?

Congrats on that one, Stephen, she´s such a beauty! And you´ll love the way that guitar plays... I know since I have the Professional that used to be Ricky´s personal guitar for a while and it´s really... everything a great classic ShoBud should be and plays like new. Can´t say enough good things about my friend Ricky, he sure knows how to treat them right and took great care of everything, including packing and shipping.

Best, Joe H.
